Someday You'll Be a Puppeteer

A little boy was just in the bookstore with his tattooed mother and she was telling me how she always has to carry at least two or three books for him. He told me he wanted to be a Jim Henson puppeteer when he grew up. I told him, "Do it!"

My Father, the Janitor

My sister tagged me on Facebook in an old photo from November 1989 during my father's visit from Albuquerque, the first time I remember meeting him. Seeing it now, me and my brother on his lap, I remembered his mustache and how I used to think the janitor at my elementary school was him because he had a similar hair color and mustache. I was always wrong, but I gave him the look like he was "Dad" anyway.
